It looks incredibly real, but put your finger in there and there is nothing there - just an image of bent light. But a true hologram is cooler than that.

A true hologram is a two dimensional object in which any single part of the whole - no matter how small - actually contains the entire image. So if I cut up a hologram into tiny pieces, every piece would contain the entire original image. A fractal is similar. It is a pattern that is infinitely repeated as you zoom into any part of the image (for example, the video on the right often referred to as "The Fingerprint of God"). And as incredible as it may sound, science now tells us that the entire universe may well be a hologram!

Mystics from around the world and throughout history have claimed that the entire universe exists within them. Then in the 1980's Physicist David Bohm - considered one of the most significant theoretical physicists of the 20th century - suggested these mystics were correct - that the universe may well be a hologram. The Hollywood blockbuster film The Matrix was based on this idea. Then in April 2015, Austrian researchers ran simulations which confirmed the mathematics and physics of a holographic universe hold true for our model of the universe.

We already know that that every speck of matter in the universe is entangled and therefore one with every other speck of matter in the universe. We already know that the physical matter of the universe arises out of non-physical waves of energy. And we already know that the only thing that enters our consciousness is waves of energy, and that even that the physical matter of the universe only arises when it is observed! Is it that much of a stretch to imagine that the physical universe is simply a holographic projection of energy? .

But if this sounds scary, or fatalistic, it need not be. The holographic universe tells us that the entire universe exists not just in you, but in every cell and every atom within you! It sounds like science fiction, but science has already produced both fractals and holograms, and found them in nature. And if we can do it, why could the extraordinary mystery of the universe not do it itself? Clearly the hologram arises out of something, and it is the something that is indescribable mystery of the cosmos - the cosmos that You Are.

Finally then, the holographic universe provides us is a power greater than we could ever imagine. The holographic universe means that any change that we make to any one part of the hologram we make to the entire hologram! Any change you make in yourself is made in every human, every galaxy, and every atom in the universe! Is this too much power? No - all you have to do is to love.

Find out more at: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2015/04/150427101633.htm

Love and be Loved #LetThemStay

http://www.youareme.com/blog/love-and-be-loved-letthemstay

http://www.youareme.com/blog/love-and-be-loved-letthemstay#comments

Uncategorized

Tonight I am sleeping on a footpath outside the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in Brisbane, alongside 100 others. We are here, along with the hundreds who have been camped out for the past eight days, because of a little girl inside. A one year old baby, known only as Asha, was badly burned by boiling water in the tent which is her indefinite home in the refugee detention centre on the tiny isolated Pacific island of Nauru. For years, the Australian government has been sending asylum seekers attempting to enter Australia by boat to detention centres on Nauru, and on the other small Pacific island of Manus Island. And for years, despite media blackouts and threats of punishment for anyone speaking out, numerous first-hand reports have described inadequate and unsafe living conditions, severe depression, self-harm and attempted suicides within these centres.

And then last week, the High Court of Australia ruled in favour of the Australian government’s decision to deport baby Asha and her family back to Nauru, along with 264 other asylum seekers, including 37 babies born here on Australian soil. In response, doctors here in Brisbane have refused to discharge Asha, citing a duty of care to only discharge children into homes where they will be safe.

And so here we are, standing is support of these doctors, and standing alongside baby Asha, her family, the other asylum seekers facing deportation, and the women, men, and children still being held indefinitely on Nauru and Manus Island today. Why are we here? Why am I here? The truth is I am here for myself. I am here because it is in my own best interests to be here – on an individual level, and on a cosmic level. I am here for ‘the little me’, and ‘The Big Me’.

At the individual level, science has shown that the little me is hard-wired to respond with compassion to those who are suffering – that mirror neurons in my brain trigger the same emotional response as that experienced in the people I see, and thus, that my wellbeing is bound up with your wellbeing. But more significantly, science has shown that when I reach out to support someone in need, when someone reaches out to support me in my need, or even when I see someone else reach out to support someone in need, my body is flooded with feel-good and self-healing hormones. My body literally becomes healthier when I help others. My mental and emotional state literally becomes healthier when I help others.

But the physiological benefits to the little me are just an added bonus. Most significantly, it is “The Big Me” – the real Me that is All That Is – that benefits when I reach out to others in need. In his book, One Mind: How Our Individual Mind Is Part of a Greater Consciousness and Why It Matters, Dr Larry Dossey describes the regular occurrence throughout the world of people who place their own lives at great risk in order to save the lives of others. Dr Dossey explains that in such instances it is not a conscious decision to be nice, or to do the right thing, that causes this reaction, but is instead our natural instinctual response. These instincts override ‘common sense’ which tells us to preserve our ‘own life.’ As we know, our instincts have evolved to ensure our survival. But if this particular instinct puts ‘my own’ survival at risk, how can it help ‘me’ to survive? Clearly, this instinct must be operating not at the level of the little me, but of The Big Me. Dr Dossey explains that in such instances, the real me – which is the One Shared Mind – shines through the illusion of the individual ego. In moments of life and death, this sub (or supra)-conscious One Mind overrides my individual consciousness, knowing that communal survival is more important than individual survival.

We are all one. At a cosmic level then, in reaching out to support ‘someone else’ in need, I am actually reaching out to support myself – All of Me. When we respond to ‘others’ with fear – when we exclude them, when we subject them to inhumane conditions, and when we lock them as children on island prisons – the whole world experiences fear. The whole world suffers. But every time we respond with love for ‘others’ – when we welcome people fleeing terror, when we stand with them in solidarity, when we sleep on the footpath tonight to defend the little girl inside – the whole world is bathed in love.

Reports tell us that immigration officials may forcibly remove Asha from the hospital tomorrow morning. Whether that happens or not, the one hundred people here tonight, the 200 school students who stood here two days ago, the hundreds who have stopped here over the past week, and the billions sharing acts of kindness around the world every day, are flooding our world, and therefore ourselves with love. I am here to experience love – and it is awesome!

I just need to remember to do it more often!

* 8 hours later the Australian Immigration Department agreed in the short term to release Asha and her parents into community detention here in Australia rather than being sent back to Nauru. This is a great result. Now we stand in love for the others #LetThemStay

You Are (the change you wish to see in) The World

http://www.youareme.com/blog/you-are-the-change-you-wish-to-see-in-the-world

http://www.youareme.com/blog/you-are-the-change-you-wish-to-see-in-the-world#comments

Uncategorized

So this one is a little less sciencey and a lot more esoteric - follows the same logic though:I have always wanted to change the world, and have always been inspired by Gandhi’s famous instruction to “be the change you wish to see in the world.” Originally, I was inspired by the idea that my actions for change could inspire others to do the same, and then later (in realising that doesn’t always happen), by the idea that even if no one else changes anything, my action [...]

So this one is a little less sciencey and a lot more esoteric - follows the same logic though:

I have always wanted to change the world, and have always been inspired by Gandhi’s famous instruction to “be the change you wish to see in the world.” Originally, I was inspired by the idea that my actions for change could inspire others to do the same, and then later (in realising that doesn’t always happen), by the idea that even if no one else changes anything, my actions are making a difference – no matter how small – and this is enough to change ‘part’ of the world

But just recently, I have come to realise that I am the change that happens in the world, because I am the world! I do not change a part of the world, because there are no parts! I used to think I could change the world by encouraging others to change, and I would try to convince others of how they should think / act / feel etc. Then when that didn’t really work, I thought that if I just modelled the behaviours I wanted to see in others – if I ‘led by example’ – others might be inspired to follow that example.

But as Eckhart Tolle says, what you fight you strengthen, and what you resist persists. The problem was, that in physically trying to coerce others to change, or even in mentally expecting people to change, I was in fact creating opposition. I spent many years expecting such opposition – at home, at work, in the wider community, in politics.

Then I was reflecting just the other day about how little opposition I have been expecting or experiencing lately. Whereas I once expected my inbox to be full of problems, I now look forward to every new email and its opportunities. Where I once feared resistance and a lack of cooperation from colleagues and family members, I now willingly go with the flow – understanding where others are at, expecting nothing, and appreciating everything. And lo and behold – my world is changing. The people around me are changing. The world is a happier, friendlier, more peaceful place. I experience the cooperation I have always wanted – not because people have listened to me, not because they have copied me, but because they are me.

I am now taking seriously the ancient spiritual teaching that says that everything takes place ‘in here’ – that everyone and everything ‘else’ out there is literally just a projection of my own inner world – and that attending to my own ‘inner work’ is all I have to do. Of course, attending to in here often means taking action ‘out there,’ but that action is now infused (more often anyway) with a greater sense of peace, non-judgement, compassion and acceptance. The world is now a happier, friendlier, and more peaceful place, because I am happier, friendlier, and more peaceful.

In seeing the many sufferings in the world, and in my own immediate reality, I realise now that I still have a lot of inner work to do – but this is now a cause for hope, for celebration, because I now realise the profound truth in Marianne Williamson’s statement that “you are powerful beyond measure.” In realising your true identity as the cosmos – as infinity – as God – you realise that you literally are the change I wish to see in the world – that truly anything is possible. So what kind of world do you want to see?

You Are Love

http://www.youareme.com/blog/you-are-love

http://www.youareme.com/blog/you-are-love#comments

Uncategorized

Martin Luther King Jr said, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. But I have experienced the glimpses of Oneness that we have all experienced from time to time – brief moments of complete and utter peace, when there is not a care in the world, where everything is absolutely perfect, when there is a profound sense of belonging.

These moments have been called ‘God moments’, ‘thin places’, ‘aha moments’, or ‘grace attacks’ amongst other attempts to describe them. Whatever you want to call them, while these moments are often unpredictable, we can seek them out through deliberate engagement in various practices. These practices are as ancient as they are modern-day fad, and while many, can be categorized into five general areas I will call ‘Gateways to Oneness’.*

At times when I find myself excessively caught up in ego and the delusion of separation, I can usually identify one or more of these gateways that I haven’t opened in a while and then attempt to do so to experience more of the Oneness I know I Am.
So here is a brief summary of the gateways – we might delve deeper into each in future posts:

The Intellectual Gateway
This is what this blog and other spiritual writings offer an opening for. For me, having a mind that is open to all possibilities, that continues to grow and develop, to discover new findings and ways of thinking, is what allows our subconscious awareness of Oneness to bubble to the surface and enter the conscious mind. Responding with wonderment and awe to various intellectual philosophies and physical realities then allows this underlying knowingness to override (for a time) the delusion of separateness created within the thinking human mind. This gateway is only ever a starting point though, and needs the others to turn intellectual ideas into felt experiences.

The Relational Gateway
It is well known that restricting a person to solitary confinement for any extended period of time will almost always cause them to go mad. Being one with every other person on the planet we crave connection with one another. For hundreds of thousands of years we humans lived in close-knit family and community groups. It is only in the past 10 000 years, and particularly the last 100 years, that we in the West have cut ourselves off more and more from these crucial community bonds, through bigger houses, taller fences, longer work hours, and more and more time looking at electronic devices and screens. To experience Oneness we must connect in deep and meaningful ways with ‘One Another’.

The Creational Gateway
Again, for hundreds of thousands of years, we lived deeply embedded within the natural world – we relied on it for our sustenance, we used its rhythms to guide all of our own, and we couldn't help but simply know we were One with It All. But again it is only in the last fraction of a percent of our journey as a species that we have cut ourselves off from nature. We know we become rejuvenated, and feel at peace, and at One, when in the surf, the forest, the desert, and when under the stars. And yet we do it so rarely. This is perhaps the easiest gateway to enter – we just need to do it!

The Activist Gateway
Under our realisation of Oneness, the phrase ‘it is in giving that we receive’ becomes a given. In helping ‘others’ we are quite literally helping ourselves. Our most profound experiences of connection with other human beings comes from moments of service, of solidarity, compassion and empathy. I don’t help you for you, I help you for me (for we) – because You Are Me!

The Contemplative Gateway
I've saved this for last because I reckon it is the key (one of two anyway). It is through stillness and silence – meditation and mindfulness – living in the present moment – that the thinking human mind (the ego / delusion of separation) actually dissolves, leaving the awareness of Oneness as the “All There Can Be”. This is the practice common to all religious a spiritual traditions, and central to the lifestyle of all ancient and indigenous societies. We will definitely cover this one in more detail in future posts.

Modern science has shown that when engaged in each of the practices described above, the body releases its own feel-good and regenerative hormones. So in addition to the psychology of Oneness, there is a specific physiology at play in the body that encourages the ‘individual’ to feel peace and belonging when connecting with that which is ‘other’ than the ‘self.’ Again, I'll have more to say about this in the coming weeks.

These five gateways are reasonably easy to approach, but the key which unlocks the true potential of each, in addition to contemplation, is love. In my experience, and from the testimony of others, I believe all ‘God moments,’ ‘thin places,’ ‘grace attacks,’ etc, are either characterised by, or elicited through, a profound sense of abundant, overwhelming love. It is why the command to love God, love neighbour, and love self, is at the core of every spiritual teaching, and why love is the ultimate reality of All That Is. Again, we don’t love for ‘another,’ we love for The One, which is You! Love flows in and through each of the gateways described above, as the sea on which all is made manifest, and as the glue holding everything together. We will talk more about this in future posts also.

For the time being, which of these gateways have you not visited for a while, and which do you want to open again today?

* borrowed from Brisbane Catholic Education's "Gateways to Spirit"

You are not 'you'. You Are The Body, Mind and Soul (capitalised). You are not 'you' - You Are You!

The little 'you,' the you with a lowercase 'y', is the delusion of separation, or ego, that we are caught in for the majority of our lives. This 'you' is 'your' mind, 'your' thoughts, 'your' feelings, memories, experiences, roles, titles, names etc. But this 'you' is the delusion. Spiritual teachers throughout history tell us that the delusion of the little 'you' - the tiny individual separate from All That Is - is the only source of fear, and therefore the only source of suffering in our world. It is the perceived need to protect and promote the little you that creates worry, anxiety, and anger. It is what causes violence towards others and even violence towards ourselves. It presents as greed, intolerance, and judgement.

But the little 'you' is but the tiniest fraction of the real You. The real You is not separate in any way from the rest of creation. The real You is creation. Throughout history, it has been traditional to assign capital letters to the divine, either as a mark of respect or as an acknowledgment of ultimate sacredness. And thus when I use a capital 'Y' for You, I am talking about the real You. You Are not the little you. You Are All That Is. You Are One with the Infinite, Eternal, and Divine Cosmos.

The real You cannot ever die and cannot ever suffer. As Jon Kabat-Zinn says, 'he who dies before he dies, does not die when he dies.' When the little 'you' dies into the real You, you realise the real You is infinite and abundant, overwhelming, Peace, Love, Belonging, and Joy.

I'm not suggesting I've done this, by the way! But I'm getting closer. In our current state of evolution, the little you and the little me will keep being reborn day in day out, and everyday fears and sufferings will continue off and on - and it has to. While painful, the delusion of separation is also a necessary one - we couldn't function as 'individual beings' without it. To complement Einstein's quote above then, Wes Nisker says in the film Planetary: "The spiritual path is not to eradicate your personality, but to expand the context in which it lives, and gain wider identities."

The game we call 'this life,' - the dance between the real You and the little you - is a magnificent one, it's just a bit skewed at the moment in favour of the little you! But as spiritual teachers tell us, it is our evolutionary fate that as we continue to awaken more and more to the real You, and the real Me, that the reality of love, peace, belonging, and joy will become more and more our default state.

There's not so much science in this post and it's a bit more out there so I'd love to hear what you think - please comment with your thoughts.

Love and peace and Namaste,
Mark

Most Importantly, You Are Me

http://www.youareme.com/blog/most-importantly-you-are-me

http://www.youareme.com/blog/most-importantly-you-are-me#comments

Uncategorized

Who cares if You really are Infinite, Eternal, and God? Over time, this develops a profound sense of peace, belonging, and purpose. But the true gift in realising You Are Infinite, Eternal, and God is not about how you feel, but is about how you act. The most important realisation here is that if You Are truly One with All That Is - if You Are One with the entire Cosmos and One with God - then You Are inescapably One with Me. You Are Me!

I Am my mother, my father, my sister, my neighbour, my work colleague, my doctor, the checkout clerk, the stranger in the park. I Am the American, the African, and the Asian I see on TV. I am the Christian, the Jew, the Muslim, the Hindu, and the Buddhist I have never met. I Am the person who attacks me in the street, the prisoner, the terrorist, the politician and the movie star. I Am quite literally the cripple, the refugee, the homeless man, and the child about to die of starvation. I Am my pet cat, the bird in the sky, the sumatran tiger, and the blue whale, I am the daffodil, the plankton, the fig tree, the amazon. I Am each and every person, and every creature that has ever lived or will ever live. I Am the river, the sky, the soil, and every other part of the environment that enables them to live. I Am You, and You are Me.

So apart from the incredible sense of belonging I get from experiencing my infinity, the incredible sense of peace I get from experiencing my eternity, and the incredible sense of power I get from experiencing my divinity, the experience of my unity with you gives me an incredible sense of purpose. It is in my own personal interest (both the tiny me and the real me) to care for you. Your wellness, your health, your experience of peace, of belonging, of love is my experience. When I offer you care, compassion, friendship, and aid I receive them myself. However, when I judge you, when I hit you, when I kill you, I am harming myself. When I ignore you, when I abandon you, or when I leave you to suffer I am neglecting myself. And I experience each of these things on both the macro (the infinite me) and the micro (the tiny individual me) levels. This is the scientific realisation of the concept of karma. Not only must the tiny me experience whatever I put out into the cosmos because it has to come from me, but I also experience whatever I put out into the cosmos because I Am the cosmos – and every part of me (including the tiny me) feels everything!

The golden rule then, which instructs me to "treat others as I would like to be treated myself" becomes imperative. I now realise that how I treat others is how I Am treating myself! And this changes everything. When I remember this, it is the end of judgement, anger, violence, and the birth of acceptance, understanding, forgiveness, and deep love, compassion, and concern. If we could all remember this everyday we could live in a world of profound peace and harmony.

What's more, is that this understanding makes me realise that every spiritual practice I have ever been taught, is for my own benefit. Prayer, gratitude, forgiveness, non-judgement, surrender, meditation, service, giving, etc etc are not for the big man up in the clouds, they are for me! I Am the one who truly benefits from each and every one of these practices, and in this light they are all gold!

The challenge is just how do we remember and live this realisation? If you've got any ideas, please comment.

Love and peace and Namaste

You Are God - an overview

http://www.youareme.com/blog/you-are-god-an-overview

http://www.youareme.com/blog/you-are-god-an-overview#comments

Uncategorized

When our distant ancestors first developed the miracle of language, they looked for a word to describe the mystery, wonderment, and awe of the extraordinary creation that surrounded them. Today we call that reality the universe, or most recently the cosmos. They called it God. The first utterance of the word God did not refer to a big old man with a long grey beard up in the clouds. It meant in fact the complete opposite - the Allness, the Isness, the Oneness of All That Is - that which is seen and which cannot be seen, which is known and cannot be known - the physical world and whatever might be beyond it.

But however unintended, the first utterance of this word was the initial confinement of the Infinite into a grossly limited mental construct. The birth of language was in effect the birth of 'God' the idea. The Infinite, Eternal and Indescribable Ultimate Reality was for the first time put into a box. Over time more and more boxes would appear, with each becoming smaller and smaller over time. Like the fable of the blind men and the elephant, we began to argue over whose vastly inadequate image of All That Is was correct. Eventually 'God' was to become so small that 'he' would not only take vengeance on 'his' own beloved children, but, according to many, who would expect us to do the same to one another.

Then science comes along and gives back just a fraction of our sight. We now see more of the elephant than we have ever been able to see before. And so more and more of us reject the testimony of the blind men who continue to cling to their own limited experiences of All That Is. Tragically however, in dismissing as absurd the fighting and the dogma of the blind men, many today say that the elephant does not exist at all! Of course this is just as blind.

A much larger number of us though know the elephant is there but long for a different story to the one we have heard so far. Fortunately, there is such as story. Today, our knowledge of the cosmos provides a sense of wonderment, mystery and awe so much greater than what even our distant ancestors could ever have imagined. As the elephant becomes more and more illuminated we see how extraordinarily massive it really is. But we also see how connected it is - how Whole is really is. And we realise that the more and more we see, how much more there is to Ultimate Reality that we will never be able to see. That in infinity and eternity, there is literally limitless potentiality.

Finally though we realise that our distant ancestors and modern day Indigenous societies, along with prophets, sages and mystics throughout history, had a different kind of vision all along. From Jesus to the Buddha, to Meister Eckhart & Ibn Arabi, to the growing number of modern-day mystics, an inner knowing and personal encounter with the divine revealed to them the truth that modern day science is finally pointing towards. Despite the deep ravines of space, time and culture that separate them, these truly enlightened masters have all seen and described the exact same thing. Namely and specifically: All is One, All is Good, All is Love, All is You, and All is God.

God Is All That Is. This core message spoken by these enlightened masters still rings true at the heart of the religions that were formed around them. Each of our religious and spiritual traditions speaks of the omnipresence of God - of the divine spirit or life force that pervades and connects all of creation everywhere. The problem is that few of us have taken it seriously. We have relegated this profound truth as a nice metaphor, while ironically literalising teachings that were themselves always meant to be taken metaphorically.

But the new story of cosmology confirms what we have all intuitively known all along. That whatever God is or is not, God is what God is. And as all that exists is One, then the One must be You, and the One must be God. You Are God. It can be no other way.

What do you think?

Namaste

You Are Eternal - an overview

http://www.youareme.com/blog/you-are-eternal-an-overview

http://www.youareme.com/blog/you-are-eternal-an-overview#comments

Uncategorized

“Death is not the opposite of life – life has not opposite” – Eckhart TolleIt is a stark realisation for most when we first recognize that our sun will one day erupt, devouring everything on earth before spewing itself and everything within our solar system into countless trillions of specks of space dust. But the realisation that you are infinite – that you are one with all that is, is the realisation that the 'death' of our sun is as inconsequential as the death of one of your own skin cells. For it is through the constant ‘death’ of every form within the universe that new forms are brought into existence.

Every day billions of the cells within your body ‘die’ before being recycled throughout the rest of creation. Every day billions of organisms – from the microscopic to the plants and animals we consume – ‘die’ to provide the proteins and sugars that become ‘your’ body, or to create new life forms elsewhere. In the same way, the creation of our sun and our own earth, with everything upon it, would not have been possible if not for the explosive supernova death of our own ancient mother star. We literally became the stardust that was the result of this cataclysmic event. Likewise, it is the ‘death’ of our own sun and our own earth, that will enable the atoms that make up your body right now to continue the cycle of life and death through countless generations of stars for trillions of years into the future!

From star dust you were born, and to star dust you shall return!

As you are one with all that is and therefore infinite, by definition you are also eternal. The most basic, commonly accepted science tells us:

That the DNA in your body right now is part of one living organism which became ‘life on earth’ and which has existed for more than 3.5 billion years.

That every atom in your body right now was formed in the death of our mother star five billion years ago.

That every subatomic particle that creates every atom of your body right now was formed in the milliseconds following the the Big Bang almost 14 billion years ago.

That every speck of matter that is in your body right now will exist in some form for at least ten thousand trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion years!

That regardless of the enormous scale of time that exists in the universe, time itself is actually an illusion! That everything that has ever happened or ever will happen, is in fact happening in this one eternally present Now moment! (We will deal with this in a later blog).

Theoretical physics then suggests a whole range of baffling possibilities as to the eventual fate (and 'past lives') of our universe. From “Big Bounce” to “Big Rip” to “False Vacuums”, “Many Worlds”, and various other multiverse theories, what these scientists all agree on, is that eternity is eternity! That the law of conservation of energy holds true for all of creation – that the infinite field of pure potential energy that we are cannot ever be created or destroyed, but can only ever change form. Science provides confirmation of the concepts of reincarnation and eternal life – we are reincarnated and reborn not once or twice, but an infinite number of times, through an infinite number of manifestations of the One Life that We Are, and which can never end.

What do you think?

Love and peace and Namaste

You Are Infinite - an overview

http://www.youareme.com/blog/you-are-infinite-an-overview

http://www.youareme.com/blog/you-are-infinite-an-overview#comments

Uncategorized

Let’s go on a journey to the farthest reaches of our universe. Travelling at the speed of light – some 300 000 kilometres per second (which is seven and a half times around the earth per second!), it takes you eight minutes to reach the sun, four hours to reach Pluto, and even at this incredible speed, an amazing four years to reach out nearest neighbour star, Proxima Centuari. But this four years is less that the blink of an eye in the big scheme of things, because to travel across the whole of the Milky Way Galaxy would take 120 000 years, to travel to our nearest neighbour galaxy, the Andromeda Galaxy, would take 2.4 million years, and to travel to the furthest reaches of the known universe would take a staggering 46 billion years!

This is unfathomable. But despite this enormity, our minds find it just as unfathomable to imagine a brick wall, or some other form of boundary which ends the universe. There has to be something else beyond it. So science now tells us the universe is indeed infinite, but also strongly suspects our infinite universe is just one of an infinite number of other universes! But the most staggering thing that science now does, is that it tells us despite the inconceivable vastness of all that is in the entire Cosmos – it is all connected – it is all One! So here is a brief summary:

Quantum Entanglement tells us that every speck of matter that exists in the hundreds of billions of galaxies, each with hundreds of billions of stars is entangled with each and every other speck of matter. So an electron on one side of the universe can have an instantaneous effect on another on the other side of the universe!

String Theory tells us that every speck of matter that exists in the entire universe is actually made of a field of interconnected strings of pure energy. This is “fabric of the cosmos.”

High school physics tells us that every speck of matter that exists in the entire universe continues to be recycled and to flow throughout the entire universe. The atoms and molecules of your body, along with the rest of the surface of the earth is being continually recycled at a rate such that 98% of what is in ‘your’ body right now was not there one year ago and will not be there one year from now! As such ‘your’ body is not your body – it is The Body.

Noetics and research into psychic anomalies tells us that all minds are connected. That in fact there is only One Mind – One Consciousness that each individual consciousness taps into to create ‘your’ mind.

New theories in physics tell us that rather than consciousness somehow arising out of form (matter), it is actually form that arises out of consciousness - a sea of formless potentiality from which the One Whole Cosmos is made manifest.

These extraordinary connections tell us that rather than being a remote, insignificant speck in a vast, empty, lifeless void, you are connected with the entirety of an extraordinarily complex, wondrous, and majestic One Life. As you are one with this One Life You Are the One Life!

What do you think?

The Science

http://www.youareme.com/blog/the-science

http://www.youareme.com/blog/the-science#comments

Uncategorized

When our distant ancestors looked to “the heavens” and to the world around them, they would have been blown away with the most incredible sense of wonderment, awe and mystery – just as we were as children. We think that science has described a lifeless, sterile, and mechanical void of empty space. Our most modern science, through the fields of cosmology, quantum mechanics, theoretical physics, noetics, genetics and neuroscience, describes a universe that is so much more unbelievably mysterious,
wondrous, majestic, and awesome than even our ancestors could possibly have imagined. As we journey into the furthest reaches of space, into the depths of the subatomic world, and into the extraordinary web that links all together, we find a reality that seems more like science fiction than reality – a world that is unbelievably confusing, spooky, and just plain weird – a world where quite literally anything is possible! The new science is telling us that what we don’t know is far, far more than what we do. Far from explaining everything, for every new discovery science creates even greater mystery – for every answer it provides, science creates many more questions still.

Of course, theories come and theories go, and what is undisputed fact today, is an embarrassing mistake tomorrow. Science will never come close to understanding the true nature of ultimate reality, but with each new incredible discovery, and each new brain-warping theory, I believe science points us closer and closer to the undeniable truth that the entire cosmos is inextricably linked - that We Are all One, and that as there is only One,You Are The One!

We will delve into this science in the posts to come, but for now check out my QUOTES page to see just what the world's leading scientists and others are saying.

Namaste

You Are Infinite, You Are Eternal, You Are God. And therefore you are me." I knew straight away that I had just clearly and succinctly defined my own spiritual belief, and summarised what I believe is the key to true inner (and therefore outer) peace. I have found this pretty hard to explain though, and so two years ago I started writing a book of the same title. So here is the initial introduction, written during the second half of 2013 to give you an overview of what this website is all about. It has evolved somewhat since then, but the essence is the same:

INTRODUCTION

“A human being is part of the whole, called by us ‘Universe’; a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest—a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison.”
~ Albert Einstein

So what does it mean to say you are infinite, you are eternal, you are God?

You are infinite – you are everyplace and everywhere. There is nowhere in the unimaginable vastness of the cosmos (and beyond the cosmos) that you are not.

You are eternal – you have always been, and you always will be. You will never end.

You are God – if you have an idea in your head that God can either be proved or disproved – that it is even possible to debate the existence of God – then that idea is not God. God is simply the sum reality of all that is – whatever that is - and therefore the only reality. That reality is incontestable. That reality is you!

To many people of faith, this final statement will be highly offensive. It does not need to be. Each of the major faith traditions preach the divinity that exists within each human being. The problem is that few people have ever taken it seriously. Far from threatening an individual’s faith, realising the truth in the above statements can deeply strengthen and enhance their belief system and spirituality.

At your most fundamental level of awareness and being you already know this. The conscious human mind has tricked you into believing otherwise – to believing you are a tiny, separate being, limited, as Einstein puts it, in time and space. As arguably the greatest mind in history, Einstein’s greatest ever insight can be found in the quote above. Our task must be to free ourselves of the prison that is our illusion of being separate from the rest of creation. This book will help you rediscover the truth that you have always known.

Most importantly however, this book will give you the realisation that, as you are infinite, eternal, and God, then you are inextricably ME. You ARE every other person, and every creature on the planet. You are the planet! You are creation, you are life itself. The implications of this realisation are profound. “Knowing” this – actualising this realisation in “your” life – means you love all of creation as yourself. It means the end of hate, anger, violence – the end of war, famine and suffering. It is the foundation of true inner (and therefore outer) peace.

Author’s note: As a completely amateur writer, I claim to be an expert on zero of the fields that will be discussed in the following pages! There are dozens of experts, books, videos and studies that provide much greater detail on the absolute interconnectedness of all of creation. My purpose here is not to replicate any of this work, but to share various scientific understandings I have gleamed from numerous sources that confirm the deep inner knowingness that is a part of our innermost being. Most importantly, my purpose is to make clear the profound spiritual implications this knowledge can have on human consciousness and the future of the planet. As such, I apologise for any inaccuracies or inadvertent plagiarism!

Namaste

http://www.youareme.com/blog/namaste

http://www.youareme.com/blog/namaste#comments

Uncategorized

“I honor the place in you thatis the same in me.I honour in you wherethe entire Universe resides. I honor the place in youof love, of light, of peace and of truth. I honor the place in you, that is the same in me.There is but one."- Ancient Sanskrit, Hindu and Buddhist blessing and greeting. [...]

“I honor the place in you that
is the same in me.
I honour in you where
the entire Universe resides.
I honor the place in you
of love, of light, of peace and of truth.
I honor the place in you,
that is the same in me.
There is but one."
- Ancient Sanskrit, Hindu and Buddhist blessing and greeting.
